Wiltondale
Wiltondale is a hamlet with a population of 21 souls located in Newfoundland, Canada. Wiltondale is also the chosen name of the all-crushing entity that rose from the ashes of the local old school Deathmetal band Rotten Casket. After the split of the original line-up Iwan Heskamp (guitar) and Niels Ottink (drums) recruited Eric Heuverhorst on guitar and Marijn de Zeeuw on bass to embark on a new adventure. Recently the line-up was completed with Ivo Bijker joining on vocals.
All the guys have a long (partially shared) history in the Dutch, mainly Twente metalscene. Check Metal Archives if you want to know more about all the bands and projects they are a part of.
Wiltondale’s debut EP is set to be released mid 2025.
The main musical components are up-tempo D-Beat and Doommetal, mixed with some occasional Deatmetal and Grindcore, maybe even a hint of Blackmetal. Contrary to their quite cheerful frame of mind, the lyrics describe themes such as desolation, misanthropy, paranoia, drug abuse and depression. Elements attributed to living in a place that is totally isolated, like Wiltondale.
We are open for business to spread our odd combination of curiosa on stage!
Long may your big jib draw,
